Connecting your eero 6E Pro Router to a New Account

If you have an eero router (also known as a gateway) that was previously owned by someone else or used with a different account, this guide will help you connect it to your new account.

If you have recently got a new eero Pro 6E Ting Router, refer to the Setting Up Your eero Pro 6E Ting Router article for step-by-step instructions.

Connecting eero Pro 6E Router

To connect your eero Pro 6E router, follow these steps:

Step 1: Connect to an Ethernet cable and power.

  1. Connect the eero to the Ting fiber modem using an Ethernet cord.
  2. Then, plug the eero into a power outlet and turn it on.

Step 2: Check that it's connected to the internet.

On the front of the eero, there is a single LED status light. If you are connected to the internet, it displays a solid white light.

For reference, here are the LED indicators and their status definitions:

  • No light - eero does not have power.
  • Blinking white - Booting up/connecting to the internet.
  • Solid white - Connected to the internet.
  • Blinking blue - Broadcasting Bluetooth signal.
  • Solid blue - Connected to the network and is setting up.
  • Blinking green - Multiple eero devices are detected.
  • Blinking yellow - An unapproved power source is being used.
  • Solid red - Not connected to the internet.

Step 3: Reset

Hold the reset button until the LED flashes red (15-20 seconds), then release it.

  • After a successful hard reset, the eero LED light will flash blue, indicating that the eero is ready to be set up again.
  • If performing a hard reset does not result in a blinking blue light on your eero, confirm that your eero is connected to the Ethernet and receiving power.

Step 4: Connect

Follow the step-by-step instructions in the Setting Up Your eero Pro 6E Ting Router help article to finish connecting your eero.

Confirming eero is Connected to Ethernet

Check that the Ethernet cord is securely plugged into your device.

  • A solid white light on your eero indicates it has an internet connection.
  • A solid red light means that there is no internet connection.
