Troubleshooting data issues on your Ting SIM

Data keeps us connected to the things that matter most.

To ensure you always have the best connection, follow these steps to troubleshoot any data issues.

Try these steps

1. Confirm airplane mode is off

iPhone
  1. Swipe down on your home screen to open the control center.
  2. Check the airplane icon. If it’s highlighted, tap it to turn off Airplane Mode.
Android
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Network & Internet.
  3. Toggle Airplane Mode off.

2. Restart your device

Restarting your device refreshes your connection to the Ting cellular network.

3. Check your phone number status

Log in to your Ting Mobile account to ensure your number is active. If it shows porting, your number is not active with Ting yet.

4. Confirm you are not roaming internationally

Ting’s data services are only available in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

5. Confirm your software Is up-to-date

iPhone
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Select Software Update.
Android
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap System.
  3. Select System Update.

6. Reset your network settings

Note: This will delete saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth passwords.

iPhone
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Select Transfer or Reset.
  4. Tap Reset.
  5. Choose Reset Network Settings.
Android
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap System.
  3. Select Reset Options.
  4. Choose Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth.
  5. Tap Reset Settings.

7. Update carrier settings (iPhone Only)

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Select About.
  5. Follow any prompts to update.

8. Check your network mode

iPhone
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Cellular.
  3. Select Cellular Data Options.
  4. Tap Enable 4G.
  5. Select Voice & Data.
Android
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Connections.
  3. Choose Mobile Networks.
  4. Select Network Mode.
  5. Select your preferred network.

9. Update APN settings (Android Only)

If your data still isn’t working, update your APN settings.

Step 1: Reset APNs to default

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Mobile or Cellular Networks.
  3. Select Access Point Names.
  4. Tap the Menu (three dots or “More”).
  5. Select Reset to Default.

Step 2: Add new APN settings

Tap the + icon and enter the details below:

APN 1 :
  • Name: Verizon Internet
  • APN: VZWINTERNET
  • MCC: 311
  • MNC: 480
  • APN Type: default
  • APN Protocol: IPV4V6
  • APN Roaming Protocol: IPV4V6
  • Bearer: LTE
APN 2:
  • APN: VZWIMS
  • APN Type: ims,ia
  • MCC: 311
  • MNC: 480
  • APN Protocol: IPV4V6
  • APN Roaming Protocol: IPV4V6
APN 3 :
APN 4:
  • Name: Verizon FOTA
  • APN: VZWADMIN
  • APN Type: fota
  • MCC: 311
  • MNC: 480
  • APN Protocol: IPV4V6
  • APN Roaming Protocol: IPV4V6
