Ting Internet Monthly Billing FAQ
Answers to some common questions about billing can be found below.
How can I pay my Ting bill?
Bill payment with Ting is monthly and entirely automated. Ting only accepts payments via credit card. Payments by check will no longer be accepted.
For steps on how to view your latest bill, see our article on Viewing Your Ting Internet Bill.
Ting Nutritional Labels
A nutritional label for an internet plan provides key information about the plan, such as prices, speeds, fees, and data allowances, similar to how a food nutritional label shows what’s in your food.
These labels help you understand exactly what you’re getting with each plan, making it easier to compare options and choose the best one for your needs, apples to apples, and plan to plan. You can view the Nutritional Label for your Ting Town at ting.com/nutrition-label
Billing Dates
Is Ting service prepaid or postpaid?
Ting Internet service is prepaid and auto-pay, meaning your card will be charged automatically at the beginning of your month of service. Your service month begins based on when your internet is activated.
When and where will I get my bill?
Ting bills are exclusively online.
- You can add or update payment methods from the Billing screen.
- You can view your billing history and trigger an email PDF of past bills from the same Billing area.
How is my billing date determined?
If your first service with Ting is Internet service, your billing date is set for the day after your installation.
If you already have Internet service and add another service such as Mobile, your new service will have the same billing date as the first service you set up.
Payment Methods
What kinds of payments are accepted?
Ting accepts card payments from Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Why will Ting no longer accept checks?
This transition to electronic payments is part of our effort to provide a more secure and efficient billing system. Electronic payments reduce the risk of lost or delayed payments, enhance security, and streamline the payment process for our customers.
When will my payment method be charged?
Your payment method will be charged on your billing date (usually the same day of the month as the date your internet service was activated).
What happens if I miss a payment?
You'll receive an email notification if your payment does not go through. We'll send the email to the email address on your Ting account.
When you receive these notifications, you won't immediately lose your subscription. We'll keep trying to take the payment over the next few days. You can get up to date on payments by signing into your Ting account and adding or updating your payment method.
Payment Confirmations
How will I know my bill has been paid?
Each month's bill will show in your Billing history. If you have any credits, those will show up separately as well, and we'll use your credits before billing your card.
Can I access my billing statements online?
Yes! Use the "Email me a copy" function to acquire a copy of your invoices to view, print, or save for your records.
For ting.com accounts upgraded from our old account platform, you have full access to all invoices from the date of the upgrade forward. If you ever need access to billing invoices created prior to that date, simply drop us a note, and we'll be happy to help.
How do I print my bill?
You can send yourself a PDF copy of any bill within your Ting Account.
- For internet service billing log in at ting.com/internet.
- Click Billing on the left navigation bar.
- Click the Email me a copy option to the right of the specific bill.
- A checkmark with the message "Bill sent to your email" will appear near the top of the page to let you know the bill was successfully sent. A PDF copy of the bill will go to the email associated with your Ting Internet account.

Will you mail my bill?
Ting does not send bills out by mail. You can obtain a PDF version of your bill from the Billing section of your account online.
Fees
What fees or taxes will I have to pay with Ting?
We are obligated to collect various taxes and regulatory fees on behalf of federal, state, and local governments. It varies depending on where you live, and it can change from time to time. When you receive your bill, you'll get an itemized account of these fees and taxes—mouse over anything in that itemized list for an explanation of that tax or fee. We don't tack on unnecessary fees or hide anything in the fine print.
Most states do not levy taxes on Internet services. You are unlikely to see any taxes on your bill (apart from a few cents on your installation) unless you also have mobile service with us.
What is this franchise fee and transit tax on my bill? (only in Alexandria, VA)
Franchise fees are paid to local governments to compensate for the use of public rights-of-way and easements. With the Federal Cable Act, cable operators like Ting are able to collect the full amount of franchise fees from customers.
The franchise fee is 3% of the monthly internet service amount. Router rentals or additional services do not add to this fee.
The city of Alexandria also has levied a 0.7% transit tax on any equipment (i.e., eero) rentals. Your internet service should not have this tax.
Example:
- You've placed an order for Ting's Home Gigabit fiber service at $89/month.
- 3% ($2.67) is added to the $89 fee.
- Your total monthly fee will be $91.67/month plus tax
