Star Codes Quick Start Guide

This feature is limited release.
Ting Voice is only available to a select group of limited release participants. If you are not participating, this article does not apply!

Star codes are special codes that can be used to access certain features on your phone. They are used by dialing the star key (*) followed by a series of digits and then the pound key (#).

Star codes + indicate you must dial the star code plus a voicemail PIN and/or phone number to enable or disable the feature.

All Other Callers

*74 | All Other Callers: Allow

All other calls (not otherwise specified in Call Handling settings) will be allowed.

*64 | All Other Callers: Block

All other calls (not otherwise specified in Call Handling settings) will be blocked.

Anonymous Callers

Anonymous Call blocking allows you to block incoming calls from any caller whose name and number do not appear on the caller ID display. The rejected caller would be instructed that you do not accept anonymous calls.

*87 | Anonymous Callers: Allow

Calls without caller ID will be allowed.

*77 | Anonymous Callers: Block

Calls without caller ID will be blocked.

*95 | Anonymous Callers: Enable Block with Message

Anonymous calls will be blocked with a message.

*97 | Anonymous Callers: Disable Block with Message

Disables “Block with Message” for anonymous calls.

Call Forwarding

Call Forwarding Allows you to forward your calls to another phone number when you are away or do not wish to receive calls.

*72+ | Call Forward: All (On/Off)

All calls will be forwarded to the number specified.

*90+ | Call Forward: Busy (On/Off)

When enabled, calls will be forwarded to the number specified when the line is busy.

*92+ | Call Forward: No Answer (On/Off)

When enabled, calls will be forwarded to the number specified when unanswered.

*94+ | Call Forward: Out of Service (On/Off)

When enabled, calls will be forwarded to the number specified when the device is out of service or not registered.

Caller ID

Caller ID Blocking allows you to hide your caller ID name and number from displaying when you make a call.

*67+ | Caller ID: Block Next Call

If the user's caller ID is enabled, this star code will block the caller ID on the current call only.

*65+ | Caller ID: Enable Next Call

If the user's caller ID is blocked, this star code will enable caller ID for the current call only.

*68 | Caller ID: Manage (On/Off)

Enable or disable caller ID for the user.

Call Waiting

Call Waiting allows another party to call you while you are on the phone with another party. A tone will sound while you are on a call, letting you know another party is trying to call you. You can answer the second call without losing the current call. You can also alternate between the calls.

*43 | Call Waiting: Enable

Enables call waiting for ALL calls to the user.

*44 | Call Waiting: Disable

Disables call waiting for ALL calls to the user.

*70+ | Call Waiting: Disable Next Call

If call waiting is enabled on the line, this star code will disable caller ID on the current call only.

Custom Callers

*59+ | Custom Callers: Allow

Calls from the number specified will be allowed.

*60+ | Custom Callers: Block

Calls from the number specified will be blocked.

*58+ | Custom Callers: Block with Message

Calls from the number specified will be blocked with a message.

*63+ | Custom Callers: Forward

Calls from the number specified will be forwarded.

Do Not Disturb

*78 | Do Not Disturb: Enable

Turns on Do Not Disturb. All calls will be sent to voicemail.

*79 | Do Not Disturb: Disable

Turns off Do Not Disturb.

Other Star Codes

*57 | Call Trace

Marks a call for a trace in your Call History. Used for troubleshooting.

*69 | Last Call Return

Dial the last caller ID number that rang the line.

*98 | Voicemail Management

Access the voicemail box assigned to the user.
